Hey everyone. I am going to be buying my first macbook soon and have been doing my research on necessary/recommended accessories. I have read some things about Moshi Palmguards being extremely useful and a great product. I was wondering if I could get some of your opinions and experiences about this product. How necessary is it? Does it really help protect the macbook palmrests from getting scratched and/or discolored? Is there a better alternative?

It will protect your palm rest from discoloring. Also, from what I heard, it also prevents your palm rest from cracking due to the macbook's design fault.

Not sure about the latter, but it's definitely worth it. The moshi palm guard blends in with the macbook color (black or white) so there's nothing to worry about. I got mine since day 1 and I love it. :)

Both pictures are with the palm guard applied although it doesn't look like it. I did not apply the film on the trackpad because I didn't like the feeling.

What about the InvisibleShield by Zagg? I have heard great things about their products and they make a full Macbook cover, covers the top, bottom, palm rests, touchpad and button. Supposed to be high grade stuff, lifetime warranty even. Any tried it on here?

I have the Marware MacBook palm guard. Its thicker than the Moshi but has a cushiony feel which I kind of like. The trackpad cover decreased sensitivity far too much so I'm not using it, but the palm area cover is nice. The pictures floating around the net show a huge, white Marware logo on the palm rest cover, but mine doesn't have that. Perhaps I have a new version, but mine doesn't have ANY log on it at all. The trackpad button piece has a small, white "Marware" printed on it, but the palmrest piece doesn't have any printing on it at all.

Here's a link, but again the picture shows a "Marware" logo on it that mine does not have.
