I have on order a mid-2012 non retina MBP.

I am considering buying this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Moshi-PalmG...T1CA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1342205006&sr=8-1

Any thoughts? A long time ago I used to own a PowerBook G4 12" (Rev A) which suffered from the pitting corrosion issue on the palm rests.

I am wondering if the unibody MBPs have ever suffered from pitting, discolouration or any other unwanted marks on the metal palm rest surfaces.

Part of the problem with the old design was that the palmrest was able to flex a lot more than the unibodies' can. That said there is still some chipping of the powder coating here and there on the unibodies (especially along the sharp edges) but the problem on the palmrests seems much less widespread than on the old design.

Have used the Moshi on my MBPs since about 2009 and have found them to be great with no issues apart from having to be patient to align it all properly. I don't use the trackpad guard that comes with it though as I prefer the smoother feel of the original trackpad.
