Okay so, since I'm planning an upgrade for my current setup, I figure I should really look at system protection such as a UPS; I have surge protected extension blocks, and while I don't suffer power outages a lot, I usually do prefer to err on the side of caution.

Anyway, since I already have wall-mounted extension blocks, I was wondering how compact a UPS solution can be? Ideally I'd like to stick with wall mounted sockets as it's much easier and tidier, but I realise a UPS is necessarily quite large in order to accommodate batteries. Are there any that are designed to work with an existing extension block (i.e - I plug my extension into the UPS, then the UPS into the wall)? If there are then I'd only need a single socket on it, plus the good sense not to overload it of course, and it might be easier to keep out of the way.

I'm in the UK, so that may limit the selection a bit.
