What’s the most minimal iPhone 13 mini case? Basically just want a small bump protection. Kevlar? I’ve never used a screen cover and I’ve LAUNCHED phones before so don’t care about that. Debating even going baseless but not sure of its durability.

You might find this review of different types of cases helpful. I just read it last week when I upgraded from an iPhone 7 to a 13 mini. I actually didn’t buy one of the recommended cases because I know, based on MY experience, that I need a case that provides a tested level of drop protection.

Everyone is going to tell you what their favorite case is.
Whether or not it's good for your needs is another matter and up to you.
;)
Finally found one I liked carbonthat but it’s $90 and would take 8-14 business days from Australia so if I didn’t like it basically couldn’t be sent back lol. Ordered a Pitaka Pro which I can have in the morning.

I always go naked. What’s the use of having a light-weight compact phone with a nice finish if you’re going to hide it in a case?

APPLE. CARE. IS. NOT. A. REPLACEMENT. FOR. A. CASE.

That's like saying car insurance is a replacement for not wearing a seat belt.

I get what you're saying, but it's a false equivalency. An iPhone is an expensive thing, and for some it's too onerous a price to pay twice, but it's still a thing, and not a life. I believe "Apple Care instead of a case" is a viable consideration under those circumstances.

I'm a big fan of Apple's leather case. or now the alternatives with better quality leather, such as Bullstrap, Andar, etc. They tend to add minimal bulk, and the leather is nicer to handle than glass and metal in some ways. If you're going to add material, why not make it something nicer.

You got me all excited with those Andar case images...I thought wow, is that a case that eliminates the camera bump???!!!!! LOL. Turns out no, at least not on the 13 mini. It seems to on the 12 mini. Gah!

But anyway I agree with your point to begin with. I have a Bullstrap leather case. What I want out of my case is to improve the grip and to do the very best it can to mitigate the camera bump. If it weren't for the camera bump I would just use them caseless, that's what I would prefer. But the camera bump drives me nuts (that is, from a wobble perspective; I'm not bothered by their appearance per se and appreciate why they are there). I find the best case I'd tried was the Bullstrap, because it doesn't have the hard plastic rim around the bump, the way Apple leather cases do. The soft leather-clad rise around the bump as on the Bullstrap and on a couple of the designs of Andar, in my experience, does the best job at minimizing the wobble.

Totally agree with you.

Pitaka’s last generation AIR case is probably your best bet. One of the better Overall thin/ light (USEABLE) cases out there. Something like 10 grams in weight. I’m still a bit disappointed it was scratched this year. 1/2 the weight of the lightest current generation
