I have quite a lot of movies that will play off my hard drive and through my MBP. However, most will not play on my iPhone or via my :apple:TV even though as far as I can see they're in the same format. Wall-E will play, 27 dresses wont?????

Try changing the extension of "27 Dresses" to .m4v. I think Apple devices only recognize .m4v instead of .mp4.

If the above doesn't work, I also believe that if you go to that movie in iTunes there will be an option to convert to an AppleTV Format.
