Hi, I'm in the market for an external firewire hard drive enclosure, and I want to know what you all think is the most stylish. I have a stylish aluminum Googie Sandwich, and want something similar, check out this thread to get an idea of what I'm looking for:

edit: preferably no plastic, unless it looks really really good.

Thanks!

The MacPower looks great...I bought this Lacie for my AlBook

If you want style, I'd get the Porsche/LaCie one. I think the one designed by Porsche has an 8MB buffer. Most LaCie's do not. They're good drives though.

And no, its not Porsche the car company, although its the same family...

i found this off ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5108916484&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

the thing is AL and the built is solid, small and it's got a led in the side.

the only thing i don't like is the adaptor and the shipping cost

Hmm. It's firewire and usb2. that's great for switching between Macs and PCs. Which brought to mind an interesting question: how bad would that freak if it was connected to an iBook and a PC at the same time???

hideous???

No offense, but that's hideous.

in wat sense

It's much smaller then the one we are talking and also smaller than the Porsche in Volume, the only thing is that it's 1cm longer but still slim and thin.

Last but not least, All aluminium and it's DIY. you get to choose the HD's quality and it cost way less.
