Hi

I hope someone can help me here. Motion sensors are not triggering my automations. The sensors show as being activated in HomeKit and the ‘test automation’ works, but that’s all. It’s not just hue sensors that aren’t working. My EufyCam motion sensors aren’t activating. In the hue app I have told it to ‘use in HomeKit’. It is puzzling.. I’ll have a basic automaton like ‘hall sensor turn on hall light’ . The sensor shows there is motion but the light does not come on.. Any ideas? Thanks

I have seen this behaviour recently, mostly since the latest iOS beta. My HomeKit through an ATV 4K as a hub is becoming increasingly glitchy. I ended up resetting my hue sensors and removing them from the house and re-installing.

One recent example is that my wife is working from home and is added to the home and when I leave the house (I work away for weeks at a time) she disappears from the house groups and none of the automations trigger as it believes no one is home.

I got around this by turning the ‘when someone is home’ to off. Not ideal.

I’m thinking a reset of all devices might solve this. Although, I think this will delete all the automations.

Are they specific time based Automationssystem or “any time”? I had same problem when I upgraded to 14.2non my iPhone. Somehow location services got corrupted and wouldn’t work anymore. I had to wipe and restore which fixed all the problems.

These we’re lux based values as our hallway Is dark. I might do a restore to see if that sorts it.

I've had similar "non"automations gremlins.

HomeKit "sees" my motion sensor, and the sensor triggers normally (I recv a notification on my iPhone), but the Automations in HomeKit either don't run or are unreliably triggered (like once every 10x it'll work)

Device batteries are full, all software and firmware are uptodate, LAN no issues. Im stumped as to its unreliability.
