MotionX GPS Drive HD - Questions

For those who are using this......

Does it require cellular data to function? (I keep getting a network error on setup and I do not have cellular account active. I do have WiFi network.)

If it requires cellular data, would you consider it a data hog?

I appreciate any input.

Not a fan of the Motion X apps for day to day GPS use. If you do not have a connection to a data network, you are out of luck. If you need something more than the Google map app, I recommend looking for a real GPS app, such as Tom Tom, that puts map files onto your device, rather than streams them across the network in near real time.

Thank ... I have a connection to the net via WIFI.

Downloaded, install and update apps that way but the program continues to give me network error message.

I guess I need to activate cellular data network.

We already have GPS units in all our vehicles, just DL'd this one for something to play with.
