Is there a 12 volt docking gizmo for mounting to motorcycle handlebars? A power adapter that can be wired direct into the bike's 12v system would be far superior to the cig adapter. Any ideas?

i don't know if you would want to leave a 3G on motorcycle handlebars, it leaves it pron to falling off the bike while your riding or whatnot, it'd be different if it was like this, minus the speakers of course and imagine a 3G there instead of an iPod Video.

Ram Mounts makes something specifically for the purpose of firmly attaching the iPhone to the handlebars but with no direct 12v charging capability. This means adding the standard 12v cig plug--a very sloppy system. Whoever invents a clean combo will sell many as there are plenty of motorcycle riders looking for just such a device.

Try Electrical Connection

Electrical Connection, which is supplies a variety of items for bikes, makes an adapter, primarily for the Honda Goldwing, that will allow you to have a 30 pin connector, to plug into your iphone or ipod, and send the output to the radio's aux in. It plugs in behind the left glove box.

Now, since I don't know if you have a Goldwing or not, that doesn't mean this device won't work because it is going to give you a 1/8" adapter out and simply needs 12v to run so it would work on other bikes.
