I have restarted both my mac and phone, the phone mounts on the desktop, but iTunes keeps saying. "An iTunes-enabled mobile phone is connected, but it could not be identified. Please disconnect and reconnect the mobile phone, then try again." I was upload music to the phone then it was disconnected halfway through.

I had this problem before. The thing you need to do is to delete the iTunes folder on the microSD card. Then, when you restart the phone, it will install by itself the folder back in, and everything will work fine. I think the Itunes setup on the microSD card is easily corupted. (Me too, the problem occured when the phone was disconnected halfway through)
