Hi All,
I want to upgrade to imac and also want to use 2 Motu 828mk3 interfaces connected by firewire hub and then connected to my Allen and Heath GS300 recording console.
I have been trawling through various forums and have found out that, the mac or Logic I'm not sure which, will only see one 828?
Now as far as I can tell this problem has been a stumbling block for many people but they all seem to be having the problem because they want to record on 16 channels at once.
For me I only record one or very occasionally two channels at once so the fact it only sees the one 828 for recording or input is not so much the problem as playback.
My problem would be that if mac/Logic only sees the one 828 how can I assign the tracks in Logic to playback tracks 9-16 from the 2nd 828 if it doesn't see it.
At the moment I am on pc using two maudio Delta 1010's and when you assign the output for each track in Adobe audition it shows both Delta 1010's, the first [Channels1-8] is at the top "Delta 1010"(1) then the second [Channels 9-16] underneath as "Delta 1010"(2) so assigning the playback tracks is simple
Also will I have any problems,[clicks/pops/playback delay or anything] by using them on a firewire Hub?
I have seen the "aggregated device" section from Apple and thought that might be the answer but I'm not sure how it would enable me to assign the outputs.
I'm rambling now!!! so I'll stop and await any responses
Thanks in advance
Martin
