Is it possible to mount a directory (on a local drive) so that it appears to be its own drive?

I have an application that is looking for files at the root of mounted drives, I'd like to store those files in a directory (where I can organize it), but I will then have to be able to mount that directory so that it looks like it is really a drive. Is that possible somehow?
Thanks
