mount hidden hard drive

I had some bare hard drives laying around, so I bought a USB to IDE connector to use them external hard drives. It shows in System Profiler (USB to IDE), but not anywhere else. Any way to force mount?

But, when I open Disk Utility, it doesn't show.

sorry i misread what you said.

Thats strange. I use a USB > IDE/SATA connector by Rosewill for several older IDE and one newer SATA drive, and I have no issues. Maybe a bad cable? Or perhaps a jumper setting on the drive? Make sure its set to Master or Single drive.

May also check w/ the manuf. of the adapter you have to see if they have any ideas.
