I recently upgraded my rock-solid 2009 8-core Mac Pro running Snow Leopard to 10.8.5 (strictly out of necessity). At the end of my working day I typically "manually" back up my session file by doing a simple Finder copy of the one file to both an iPod and to an external Firewire HD. In 10.6 it would copy the file to both drives simultaneously -- as you'd expect -- but in 10.8 the Finder "waits" for one copy to end before starting the copy to the other hard drive. This is incredibly annoying because the session files are often pretty big, so they can take a while to copy. It's an unnecessary waste of time.
Anyone know if preventing simultaneous copying of one file to multiple drives is a "feature" of Mountain Lion, or is there a setting I can change to allow it?
Thank you!
