I just installed ML on my Mac Pro and the colors seem to be a lot more vibrant. More like how my MBA displays them. Is there something different in the OS palette, or did it just come with updated graphics drivers or something?

Mac Pro or Retina Macbook Pro?

why would updated drivers purposely change the color gamut? that would be ridiculous. there are a few updated graphics in ML. namely the dock being the most obvious.

Mac Pro right now. My retina is preparing to ship currently. This is just the first of my macs to be updated...so its my first time seeing it. 4 more to go..LOL

Hmm, Apple is using Chromotherapy to relieve ML post-release depression for those who were expecting miracles... :D

They look close to me, but you're right, there is some variation.

Well are you just comparing internet images? By any chance were you using Chrome before? I know that Safari is one of the few browsers that correctly displays colors how they're meant to be seen. It's a weird thing but it's true, or at least it was at one point.

The colours havent changed.

What you are seeing is the effect created by changing the dock image colour to white/grey, as it increases the contrast between the images displayed above it. Similar to how a white iPad appears to have higher contrast than a black one, despite the displays being perfectly identical.

Either way it looks much better. Actually matches the top bar now.
