Mountain Lion Extremely Slow?

Hey, I've installed Mountain Lion a few weeks ago and after some testing, I found that I see more spinning beachballs more often that I had in Snow Leopard and Lion. It even took ML much longer to load up the Mail settings in System Preferences.

Is it just me or is everyone else encountering it as well? Will it be fixed soon?
