Maybe it is not an encoding problem, something else completely.
I honestly have no idea what is going on my mac.

I tried to snoop around in some of the Korean website,
and some of the characters are literally not showing.

pic from wikipedia, hangul(korean alphabet) page.

the word which sounds as 'guel' is supposed to be shown inside the first and third parentheses.

Later, as I moved around the website little bit more, I did manage to find out many of the characters start with sound "G" or ㄱ are somehow not shown on my screen. Yet, awkwardly enough, I can still copy the text and read it on texteditor as I paste it. Of course, it will be invisible once again as I re-open the file, literature, whatever I was reading.

Please someone enlightens me. I know there is a easier way of which just stop snooping around korean websites, but it would be wonderful to know what is causing this problem.
