Anyone else out there experiencing network lockups on Mountain Lion? Here's what's happening:
1) Mountain Lion is the OS.
2) Mac goes to sleep.
3) On waking, Mac tries to connect to network, fails, then the top right section of the menu bar beachballs when you roll over it.
4) Mail and Calendar both lock up (due to network failure)
5) Opening System Preferences locks up when trying to open Network.
6) Only restarting will resolve the issue.
I found others who are having this issue at the Apple Support Community. The evidence points to Transmit as being the culprit. I have only experienced the problem so far when Transmit is running, my MBP goes to sleep, then the network locks up upon waking.
Thought I'd open the thread here and see if anyone else is having these issues. Here the link to the thread at Apple:

Can anyone else verify a connection with Transmit?
