Hey all have the new retina display just updated to mountain lion. I am trying to mirror my display to the apple tv along with the audio. seems like the audio is just sticking to my mac. i have tried to go to system preferences and choose the audio out as the appletv but when i attempt to click it just bounces immediately back to the internal speakers option. anyone getting the same thing?

I have the same exact issue. No fix here :(

yeah, there are no special settings...it just worked out of the box for me, try reseting all hardware...also make sure your apple tv is up to date.

Re-Boot

reboot the mac when this happens. slightly annoying but a restart sorts it out.

Go Option-Speaker(tray) and bring up sound preferences, you should see a second audio device AIRPLAY. If u don't see then go into the ATV's menu and enable AUDIO to on or auto.
