Mounting a dvd image

If you mount a dvd image on a mac and then you install it then next time you restart it will the install still be there or will it be gone??

You may want to make this more than one sentence... But from what I gather, are you asking if the install will stay on your hard drive?

When you "install" something onto your computer, you are putting it on your hard drive. The reason for installing anything is so that it is on your computer and not on a DVD. It will stay on your computer. this is why you don't see everyone carrying around a disc for every application installed on their computer.
