Mounting a Thunderbolt 2 drive on the 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Max

Hey,
Anyone else having real issues getting a thunderbolt 2 drive to mount on a MacBook Pro 2021 M1 Max using an Apple Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adaptor?
I'm having no joy at all getting my Promise Pegasus or G-Technology Shuttle XL TB2 drives to mount. They fire up when plugged in but nothing shows up, not even in Disk Utility.
This set up works absolutely fine on my MBP 2018 so I don't believe it's a faulty adaptor.
I'm on Monterey 12.0.
Any ideas/suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I haven't had any issues connecting my Pegasus 2 R4 with the Apple Thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter to my M1M.

Are you sure you're using the latest driver? https://www.promise.com/Support/DownloadCenter

Even though these are for Big Sur, they should still work in Monterey. https://www.promise.com/Promotion/Apple_masOS_Big_Sur_M1
