Mid-2008 I got a airport extreme to replace an old express. Recently someone got me one of those best buy gift cards for christmas. Thinking this was useless I decided to get a small external hard drive to connect to my extreme. Today I got this hard drive and when I partitioned It to my liking I connected it to my airport extreme. When I did this there was an Icon that said "Airport Extreme" under shared in my finder and then inside that there were three separate icons for the partitions. The problem is when I try to open up CarbonCopyCloner It told me that I couldn't make a disk image be bootable, which was what i thought I wanted to do. Could anyone instruct me on what went wrong. I suppose that it could be that the disks are not appearing under the "devices" section of finder, and thus are not able to backup to without making a disk image? Thanks for your help. I hope that this is not a duplicate thread, but I couldn't find one, thought i do remember talk about problems with time machine a while ago.
