Hi,
I am coming to OS X from couple year on Linux (Ubuntu) as my main os. I certainly appreciate many similarities between both systems. At the same time it makes tiny differences much more annoying.
For example I am used mounting/unmounting my samba shares from CLI using credential option:
" ... -o credentials=.secretfile"
to authenticate. I did not find comparable option on Mac; I did find some auto-mounting how-to's that hardwired username and password into /etc/.smbsomething config file ... I do not like that.
Any ideas how to enter credentials to mount my shares?
Thanks, R>
PS. I'd like to back up my Mac using rsync script to my Linux file server. I need ensure remote share is mounted to execute back up. I still like rsync approach over TM since I am still using Linux-based computers which I back up the same way.
