Looking at their webiste, the cases look nice and they claim great drop protection. However, has anyone here actually used a Mous case? If so, is it as good as it looks?

I’ve got the wood coming in after the weekend. Hopefully it lives up to the hype and cost.

I bought one for the 7 and didn’t really like it. Sent it back and after a LOT of time and email anguish finally got a refund. I wouldn’t recommend them after that.

Just got my iPhone X leather one in today. I absolutely love it! Feels super solid, genuine leather, and the charger works great! Best case I’ve had for a phone in my opinion.

I just received my carbon fiber one and it is trash compared to the Evutec Aer Karbon. My biggest pain point with the case is the poor build quality for the price. I paid $50 for my Mous and there are mold lines all over the case, really?? The buttons feel very cheap and this case is also very thick, almost 50% thicker than the Evutec. The Mous case also has a strange concave shape, where the bezel comes down to the screen level and bulges out at the ends. Looks very odd and I am not a fan. Lastly, the edges where the carbon insert comes in is uncomfortable in your hand.

I had really high hopes for this case, but the Evutec is a much better case for less money as well. I have a youtube review channel and will be posting a head to head comparison.

Never used the evutec, but it doesn’t look like it would protect my phone as well as the mous. There is only one mold line going around the case. And the concave shape was actually an added plus for me. I didn’t know that the case would be shaped this way before receiving it, but after using it a while I’ve realized it’s a pretty cool idea. It allows you to type and swipe comfortably but still gives you a lip so your phone doesn’t lay face down on the screen. Can’t speak on the carbon fiber one, but like I said before the leather is awesome! We’ll see how long it holds up but so far I love it.

Got my walnut case today. Whilst it’s not a bad case, it is certainly underwhelming; the slipperiness being the ultimate downside.

Does it cost £35 (including the seasonal discount)? No. But it has enough qualities that push me to keep it.

- Beautiful matte aesthetic.
- Superb production
- Super snug fit
- Lightweight and surprisingly low profile

If you don’t mind the lack of grip, it’s definitely a case I’d pick up on a discount.

My post with my YouTube video review was deleted by mods for some reason, but I would agree that it definitely is an underwhelming and overhyped case.

Was the Mous case good or bad? Recommend or stay away?

IMO there are many better cases out there. Mous did a good job of promoting themselves but I really think they are overpriced for what you get. My top picks for cases are either the Evolutive labs playproof (with grip tape modification), the evutec aer series, catalyst impact protection case (not the waterproof one), and maybe the thanotec k11 (if they've fixed the button issues?)

I have used Evolution labs playproof cases. What’s your thoughts on their Solidsuit cases?

I will also answer this one since I have two SolidSuits. It’s a decent case, but not durable... The finish on the bumper chips easily and the fit gets worse over time.

I buy a new iPhone every year on Day 1 and this will be the 3rd Mous case I will have purchased.

The first Mous case for my 7 Plus was ok. The material on the back lifted up and created a very small lip, but it never separated fully.

I have one on my X now and absolutely LOVE it. The tweaks they implemented are very welcome. Based on my experience with the X, I recommend it to everyone who asks.

Mous was the first site I went to after watching this year’s keynote and immediately purchased one for the X s Max I have coming next week. Fingers x’d that the case arrives before the phone.

The only bad thing I can say is that I’m not sure how well it will hold up in wet situations since I opted for the wood back.

For those situations, I switch to a $10 anker case.

Update:

After the whole slip issue I was a bit iffy, but honestly, it’s the best phone case I’ve ever had.

Never think about it and it still looks the same as it did when I bought it. Holds up extremely well, and I’m not exactly careful.

And no, water is NOT an issue. Had it in the rain and in the shower while listening to a podcast (don’t judge me), and nothing has changed.

Pricey, but I’d buy another in a heartbeat.

I’m on the fence on trying their mous case too. I just love looking at the bamboo one. I’m not sure if the wood will hold up well. Did you try getting the wood too?

How’s the free screen protector that comes with it holding up?

I actually went for the wood. It’s what I’ve got on my phone right now. It’s been dropped and soaked in things way to many times to count and it looks just as great as ever.

There are a few scratches but they’re almost like organic grains. Imagine a decent coffee table. Something like that. Screen protector is bliss. I’ve actually not thought about that until now. They’ve got a very neat package for layering it onto your screen and it does not scratch.

I feel like the slippery feeling has lessened with use, which makes sense given how sleek and glossy it is factory new.

Don’t know about the screen protector... I get the Belkin one installed at the Apple Store.

Sounds like a fantastic experience so far.

I’ve been eyeing that wood case since my iPhone SE & 8. I would finally try 1 out for the upcoming Xr.

How long have you been rocking the wood case? Bamboo, right?

I went Walnut, but the bamboo was super tempting. I’ve had it since the X came out, so give or take a year.

I don’t know what they’re using for the new iPhones but they seem to be improving the production

Walnut is also in a tie with bamboo for me.

I hope they keep improving it so it would last longer.
