Mouse always double clicking in Leopard (and Windows XP through Parallels v. 4)

Hi. As I mentioned in the title, my mouse just recently started intermittently double-clicking when I only single clicked. I've tried this in both Leopard v. 10.5.8 and Windows XP, which I run through Parallels v. 4. It's a Logitech wired optical mouse and the model # is M-JV55a.

Any ideas on how I can fix this? I've tried altering the double-click rate in OSX, but it still happens. Could a faulty Mac driver be causing a problem in Windows, too?

Try a different mouse.

Also, create a temporary account and see if it repeats in the new account.
