mouse ball and scrolling

For some reason, the scroll ball on my mouse fails to scroll down but will scroll up. I've obviously accidently changed something. Any suggestions?

I have this problem all the time. Simply clean the ball with an eye glass cleaner or moist paper towel. Also, you might at the same time remove any skin oil from your finger.

If applying moisture to a device gives anyone "the willies" then flip the mighty mouse over and roll the ball over a clean sheet of paper.
