mouse freezing?

Whenever i press a key on the keyboard, my mouse freezes for about 0.5 seconds. Is this normal?

I've had a similar problem on my MBP. I find that if Airport is switched on in cases where there are no available networks, it causes the mouse to periodically freeze. The same thing happens with the trackpad and an external mouse. This only happens when there aren't any wireless networks. If I turn Airport off, the mouse is fine. If I can connect to a wireless network, the mouse is fine. Worth a try.
