Mouse Gestures and Cold Booting

I have an issue going on here that I'm not to sure why its happening.

Specifically, whenever I boot up from a shut down and login my trackpad gestures do not work (any of them). I am forced to log out and log back in and they will work just fine.

Any ideas?

See if this affects another User on your MacBook Pro. If you don't have another user, create a Guest Account. See if you run into the same issues.

If you don't run into these issues on your Guest account, your preferences in your main account are corrupted. I will help you further if this is the case.

I finally gave both of those hints a tip and still no go.
I'm going to try a fresh install this weekend.

I was having a similar issue with my MacBook and Snow Leopard. Reinstalling the Mac OS X 10.6.2 Combo Updater fixed the issue.
