I have a Logitech M510 mouse with the unifying USB receiver. I noticed my mouse pointer would jump on the screen when the USB receiver is plugged into the USB port next to the HDMI. When I move it to the opposite side where the thunderbolt ports are, it works fine.

And yes I've tried using it on a mouse pad and different surfaces but the same issue persists.

I'll guess that there is poor contact between the dongle and connector tips of the USB port itself.

These contacts -can- become bent and marginal.

Have you tried a "close inspection" of both the port and the dongle?
