So I just got my MBP, and I'm enjoying learning the Mac OS, but I'm having a problem. Whenever I close an application or switch between them, my USB mouse becomes unresponsive, it still lets me click and right click, but it won't move for 5-10 seconds with each switch. The trackpad still works through this all though.

Any suggestions to make it stop becoming unresponsive? Thanks!

Edit: and while I'm here, where do I check the fan speeds/computer temperatures, is there a built in application for it? Thanks again!

what kind of mouse and connection?

istat pro widget is your best bet for information. ie:fan speed, temps, cpu usage, etc...

Its just a generic USB cable optical mouse from logitech, one of the cheap white ones you see everywhere, two buttons and middle mouse scroller. Use it on my PC and it never freezes, and I don't have another mouse to use with my MPB yet.

Thanks for the widget!

don't know about the mouse issue. try selecting "ignore trackpad when mouse is present" in system preferences. other than that i have no clue of what it could be.

you could try installing Logitech Control Center.

it's been better lately...used to be really, really buggy.

I pulled out one of my older wireless mice and it seemed to work fine...it might have just been something weird with that mouse. Oh well :p.

Everything seems to be good now!

Thanks again for the widget that monitors the system.
