mouse unusable with handoff

so this is absolutely absurd.

i'm not a heavy mouse user, but i recently discovered that i can't even *use* my wireless mouse unless i disable the handoff feature in macos. i don't really use handoff so i guess its no major loss, but it seems pretty ridiculous that they designed an os feature that breaks something as foundational as wireless mouse tracking and were apparently just kinda ok with that.
