Ok this will be tough to explain.

Last week onwards, I've had situations where the mouse-feature on my late 2008 17" MBP, has stopped the function of 'clicking' I say the 'mouse-feature' because I have tried to troubleshoot this with wired and bluetooth wireless mouse. So in all three mouse interactions (trackpad, wired, bluetooth) i am able to move the cursor but unable to tap/click.

I tried creating a new user to test if it's user account related, in vain.

I also tried resetting PRAM, that appeared to fix the problem for a few days but today the problem resurfaced. This time it seemed severe as I wasn't able to temp-fix it via a system hard reboot (which used to solve this problem last week)

My suspicion is pointing towards something to do with interference caused
by other bluetooth mice that are paired with my macbook pro.

I am going to continue to troubleshoot and provide more info as I learn, however I thought to share with the group here in the hopes of getting other feedback?
