Every now and again i move the mouse and the whole web page goes large.
I'm not sure what i did to make it go like that and the only way to make it go back to the correct size is to shut the web page down and open it again.
There must be an easier way ?

double tap the top of the mouse, do not do a double click.

an accidental double tap of the mouse will zoom in on the webpage. double tapping again will zoom out.
