Doesn't work in any web browser for me. The whole page scrolls up or down and doesn't affect the counter.

Works fine for me, as long as I keep my mouse pointer within the test while I scroll. I'm using Google Chrome as I am booted into my Window$ partition right now, but I have observed this even in Firefox on Mac OS X - that when I am scrolling a web page and the mouse pointer moves over a flash advert, the scrolling stops, presumably because the mouse events get redirected to the flash advert instead of the web page.

Anyways, I could manage a score of 1948.
