For about 4-5 days, my mouth has been tasting initially like flour and now it has a lactose-ish, milk-y taste. I have been drinking the same amount of water as usual, and nothing has really changed in my lifestyle.

Does anyone else has this? Any suggestions how to get rid of it?

Edit: The roof of my mouth is sore and the edges of my lips are cracked.

You may have a bacterial infection. Pull out your tongue in front of a mirror and press down on it with a finger and try to see the back of your throat. If you see white or yellow spots, you have an infection.

If it is the case, you can buy a kind of antibacterial mouth wash that will maybe take care of it.

No. It can't be. No white splotches.

probably is a bacterial infection. I'd see a doctor. Mouthwash is ok as a disinfectant, but the alcohol in there can kind of exacerbate the problem with the chapped lips, etc.

it's no big. 10 days worth of Amoxil and you'll be rid of it.

Any stress? Sometimes the body just gets out of sync. Keep drinking the water, keep exercising, scrape your tongue (an upside down spoon is the best way - yuck, I'm eating lunch as I type this :( ) and see a doctor if it persists, otherwise it may become an obsession. The doctor will probably just laugh, but at least you'll have asked.

I've heard that intense gamma radiation can cause weird sensations, including weird tastes in your mouth. Do you live near a nuclear power plant? Any recent hydrogen bomb tests nearby? I'd look into that before seeing your doctor.

Cancer chemotherapy and radiotherapy will.

All I found on Google was some homeopathic remedies for "mouth tastes like flour in the morning".

Although I get the impression though that there would be some specific kind of tincture available to purchase to treat "Mouth tastes of ferret from 2 - 4 PM alternate Tuesdays" as well.

Eat some eggs... maybe you'll taste pancakes... :p

I agree with the bacterial infection diagnosis, although rather than seeing your Doctor, your Dentist would be a better bet.

Did you recently kiss Salma "Salmonella" Hayek? :D

Should I be as amused as I am that 6 out of the last 8 threads you started have been about odd ailments? :p I don't know, but I am. :D

Agree that this might be one for the doctor or dentist...

Are you eating properly? The cracked lips and weird taste thing could be indicative of some sort of vitamin or mineral deficiency, but I'm no expert...

you know that could be it. I took a Vitamin C tablet yesturday night, and in the morning today, i was fine. But then I drank some strawberry-banana smoothie, and it came back...
