Is there any tool that can convert the quicktime .mov file to .mpg for free? Thanks.
 
Only one I know of is Quicktime Pro, which isn't free, but I think it's worth the $30 price tag if you can afford it

ffmpeg can covert anything. check it out. i think its free for the most part and 10 bucks or something if you want to use some other aspects of it.

ditto..its free..i use it , and its very good..ffmpeg is ported fro mac, n called ffmpegx...so google fr that..
 
it's a little bit of an involved process, but you can use iMovie to change .mov to .mp4 if you feel like it.
