.mov into iMovie '08

Hey,

I'm having problems importing/dragging a .mov file into iMovie for editing. I don't know what the problem is since .mov is a supportd file..... If you have any ideas as to what's going on, or how to solve this issue, it would be much appreciated.

mov is just the extension on the file... that doesn't mean it is a supported file type. it totally depends on the codec used to create the file.

open it up in QT and press Cmd+I to look at the info for the file. that will let you know what kind of file it is...

I will try that when I get back home. I didn't know that little tidbit of info. The help says .mov is supported, so I assumed...
