I have a series of .mov videos from work that play just fine in preview. If i try to open them in quicktime then the videos will not play. I can scrub forward, but the video will not play at all. I downloaded VLC, with it i get video but no audio.

I'd like to be able to watch these while multi tasking, which means I need to play them in something other than preview.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

In order to find out, what may be wrong with your video, you can use the following three applications to analyse a sample video file.
When done, you can use the "Report" (VideoSpec) and "Export" (Media Inspector) button to export a report,
attachable to your next post via the

button.
In MediaInfo you have to go to the Menu Bar, select View > Text and copy the text via CMD+A > CMD+C and paste it via CMD+V into your next post.
