I imported video from a JVC Everio to my mac, then I used Mpegstream to change the format from .mov to .dv. The movie has been sent over to iDVD and the final product looks terrible.

What did I do wrong? Is it the camera or my settings. Please help.

In mpegstream I used the DVCPRO50 setting, PAL, 720x576, 25 fps, 16:9 aspect ratio.
thanks

Is there a reason you're using PAL? Are you in a place that uses PAL?

I used to have an Everio, the quality was absolutely horrible, so I wouldn't rule that out.

Try Importing in iMovie

iMovie should be able to handle importing a .mov file to a digital video project. I can't make any promises, but trying a different encoder might do the trick.

THere is no reason I'm using PAL other than that was the defualt setting. What other encoder would you suggest?

That would do it.

If you are in North America, use NTSC, since that is what the camera is recording in.
