Alright i have 2 questions...

I have a .mov music video i have downloaded (not from iTunes) and i cant seem to convert it with any program i have on my mac...i have tried ffmpegx which did fine with my other video files...it seems that this .mov is a "secure" file...i tried to convert it with quicktime pro as well but the "export" option is greyed out as well...any thoughts?

and 2...

I have ALL of my music on an external hard drive....is there anyway to make iTunes automatically find when i put new music on that drive instead of having to put it on manually everytime...

thanx!

Change your itunes library directory settings to your external hard drive. Go to the tabs up top: itunes, preferences, advanced, then choose where you want your library to come from....I do the same thing.

alright well the vlc converts it quickly and in great quality...here is the problem...the audio is off...and it also cuts out in quicktime and on my iPod...any reasons why? i convert it using the mpeg4 video and audio settings, like 1400KB vid quality and 160000kb/s (2 channel) audio....i dont know what else to do...and this is the only program that works with aol videos

Choose Quicktime as the encapsulation method.

Transcode video to mp4v.

Transcode audio to mp4a.

Don't key anything in the bitrates or anywhere else.

Works for me.

Uh, on the open window tick the Advanced Output box and then click the Settings button...
