Hi please can anyone help?

I was having problems with my HD and had to reinstall OSX and then recover my system from Time Machine. I had problems with a corrupt HD in the past, so had done my best to back-up everthing important to me.

I backed up using an external HD with 1 partition for Time Machine and a 2nd partition where I just dragged and dropped all my files. (I've also burnt DVD back-up's of iTunes and iPhoto.)

I managed to restore my machine pretty much as it was before, but now some of my .MOV files (which are video clips filmed on iPhone) and .DV files will not open in QuickTime. The files are listed and appear to be the right size, but I just get an error message saying the the file could nto be opened. Other .MOV files in the same folder are fine.

The really annoying thing is that the back-up versions of these same files also will not open.

Does this mean that the files (and all the back-up versions) are corrupt or could it be an issue with QuickTime itself?

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could repair/recover these .MOV files?

Also, was my back-up strategy flawed? How can I do this better?

thanks!

UPDATE: I have fixed the problem, all I needed to do was run the normal software updates. Once these had finished, I could access these movies again.

Simples!
