Hello,

Is it possible to move a HDD from my 3year old macbook (white) to a unibody macbook pro and continue working?
The problem is that the LCD on the old macbook is not working well anymore and the owner needs a solution fast without the loss of data and expensive softwares like photoshop (and others), so if there is an other solution any help is welcome.
Thanks in advance.

No the OS build is more specific to machine. You should do a time machine backup of that drive, format it, then put it into your MBP and install Leopard or Snow Leopard.

It's fine as a temporary solution. Just don't try to use Firewire or SD card reader.

Long term you should do what jessica said.

The harddrive in your 3yrold macbook might only be a 1.5Gbps SATA drive, you should check this before taking the faster drive out of your new MBP.
