Move iTunes library from PC to new Mac.

I'll be getting my first ever macbook pro in a few weeks. To prepare I move my itunes folder to an external hard drive so when I get my mac I can transfer that folder to it. My iTunes folder has everything. My music, tv shows, podcasts, apps, playlists, etc.

It should work if not iTunes 9 has a "automatically add to iTunes" folder just copy all your files into that and it will add everything to iTunes.
