I've run out of space on my 16gb iPhone 5. I will upgrade when the 6 is released, but in the meantime, I want to delete all the photos/videos to free up space. The photos are backed up to my mac.

After I upgrade, can I move the photos from my mac back to my iPhone? If so, what's the best way of doing that? I don't use iPhoto on my mac and have no desire to do so. I use dropbox. Is there a way to transfer photos/videos from my mac to my iphone?

Thanks!

You can use Dropbox or iTunes.

You can point iTunes to a folder of your choice, where you have the photos stored.

Load iTunes on your Mac.

Connect your iPhone.

In the Devices section (down the left hand side), click on your iPhone.

Along the top of iTunes you will see this:

Click on Photos and you will then see this:

You will now see this:

Awesome. Thanks very much for the illustration. That helped a lot!

or using iPhoto on mac you can click on the photo or photos you want on your iPhone, then choose add to or share to iCloud, then choose photostream, then view them from your iPhone in photo stream and save them to iPhone camera roll. A few steps and sounds way more complicated than it is, but just wanted to add the info :)

you gotta have a good upload speed for this

what is this 1998? :mad::D

You wouldn't believe but in many parts of Europe and i hear USA as well people are still on ADSL connections. Which means it's 1mb upload speed.. I live in northern Italy and i only got my fiber (they call it that way, but .. hey... ) 20/10 mb connection last year.... And I live in a major city, not some village.. Which tells you a lot about the situation ....

You need an app called PhotoSync. Also a desktop version. Works perfectly.

Do note that this does not put them back in the camera roll like before. It will be put in a synced album that cannot always be easily deleted again except from iTunes.

PhotoSync returns them to your camera roll.
