Move user settings from Snow Leopard to Tiger?

Hi! I have a question. I currently have two macs (one running SL, and a g5 imac running Tiger). I am living at home with my family, and am moving out in a few weeks. I am taking the mac that has SL, and leaving them the one with Tiger.

My question is, can I transfer user files only (email, documents, music, etc.) from SL to Tiger? Will the old version of mail in TIger be able to display the messages from SL? How many compatability issues will I have if I do this?

I know I cannot transfer Apps-- only looking to transfer user settings.
