After reading a MacLife article of how to's, I moved my large iTunes and iPhoto libraries to a 1 TB WD HD connected via USB to the airport extreme base, and it worked until
2 big problems showed up:
1- MBP looses connection with the networked HD when I wake up or log back to my computer. It seems that the WD HD goes into a sleep mode (power save) and the only solution is to reboot the disk/extreme base.
2- When attempting to Burn playlists to a CD, an error mssg. says "music files not found" although the iTunes library is pointing to the networked disk.
I called WD support and they said no settings for the specific HD that can be changed.
Do I need a different HD for this set up to work? my MBP 250 GB HD is already full and I am planning to switch to a leaner MB Air and outsourcing the large libraries will be a necessity... or is there some sort of a setting, somewhere, that can resolve these issues?
TIA.
