I had actually ordered on 5/31 a new IP13 in green which UPS delivered to someone else. That person was nice enough to bring the package over to me.

while my SE2 worked ok, the battery life was bugging me (discussed in other threads, I know) and my wife convinced me to move forward. I had a bit buyer's remorse, thinking that I should have gotten the Pro, so I went to the Apple store in Woodbridge VA to exchange it. Turns out, if I did that, I would lose out on the 15% trade bonus on the SE2 offered by Apple thru 5/31, so I decided to stick with the regular 13. Still wish I could have gone to the 13pro, but not to be. Apple essentially missed out on extra $$.

I was fortunate to have a trainer available to help with the transfer (which I am sure I could have done, but heck, I was there already). I learned that he was a 12 year Apple veteran employee. They have "sessions" again, with one that I will actually sign up for a photo walk to learn how better to use this phone. First time I am using face id. I guess I will get used to it over the next couple of days. The store was not overwhelmed, and the training I received was beneficial and personal. Rich at Woodbridge is top notch, Apple!

I think my AW5 battery drains faster now. Not sure why that is. we'll see.

So now I have this nice looking green phone, and I will probably put a case on it :D. I was using a black leather Apple version on the SE2, and there are sales on the IP13 leather cases now. Now which color to choose??? (not purple, that is for sure!) Green or brown are the leading candidates.

My only challenge is that I am on my son's family plan with Verizon, and I had to physically change the SIM to get the new phone to work, since Verizon won't transfer the phone number without approval from my son who is busy on travel for a few weeks. So I am still on 4g, which is fine for now. I am tempted to just take the phone to T-M or someone else and get a new number, as Verizon is not the most customer friendly crew. All I need is a cheaper prepaid plan anyway.

I think I will skip Apple care, just pretty expensive compared to the risk. And yes, I have dropped a phone in the past and cracked a screen (work phone that I ended up having to pay to get repaired). $149 for a $800 phone is just a bit much.

Hi @tenordrum and congratulations on your new iPhone 13! For me, upgrading to a 13 was quite a step up from my old 8 Plus, and (as you experienced) Apple is very good in the area of customer care. Enjoy it!
