Moved iPhoto Library and now...

I can't find my beloved pix!!

I carefully researched how to do it - copied my iPhoto file from Pictures on my MacBookPro HD, then opened the new library on my external HD by pressing Alt when I opened iPhoto.

Once I saw my pix were transferred (21.95GB on my external HD) I moved the pix on my internal drive to trash. (It's still there showing as 25.something GB)

But now when I open either drives, the iPhoto app says 'no items'.
I know I'm not doing something obvious but I can't figure out what it is....

I feel certain my pix are here somewhere - I just need someone to show me where. All help very much appreciated. Thank you.

When you launch iPhoto and hold down Option (alt), click "other" and locate your iPhoto Library again. It should open.

Moved iPhoto library and now...

I tried clicking Alt and then selecting "Choose Library" but when i select the iphoto library on my external HD, it opens but has no items in it. It does say that it has all the GB on the Finder listings, so I'm guessing they are there somewhere...?

Any other suggestions Spice?
