Hello,

I'm trying to find an app to catalog my movies, with three specific features.

At the moment all my movies are siting in HHDs.

What i want is, to import from folders & files, autocomplete data using IMDB and batch operations.

If you know something please reply to this post.

Thank you

Plex is awesome. I use it to accomplish exactly what this thread is about.

I was in the same situation, with my movies just sitting in a folder on an external. I renamed them all to the specifications of Plex, and then clicked import within the app and Plex handled the rest.

Benefits are

  • no conversion of file types / it reads everything from mp4, avi, mkv...
  • skinnable interface
  • plugins to access hulu, netflix, pandora, etc,
  • pulls info from IMDB so everything from movie and tv show covers, theme music, and movie information is extracted and can be searched and sorted by you

Plex is an amazing program once you go through the learning process of getting it up and running. Strongly recommend.

Dude Plex is awesome, i'm amazed how easily match the content and with 90% correctness. I would perfectly do with out the media server part but you can have everything.

I found through app store a small app called 'collection' it's a splendid app but not even near Plex's capabilities.

For instance if you have a movie that is split in to files (part 1, part 2 ...) it's not recognized at all from the app which in the case of Plex no problem.

Much appreciated
