iPod touch Movie Files won't play on TV

I have a 16 Gb IPOD Touch that I have added some Mpeg 4 files on it. They play good on the IPOD Touch, but when I try to play them on the TV, I only have audio. I bought a third party docking station with the A/V cables, but no luck. Do I have a defective IPOD:mad:. The IPOD is running the latest 2.0 version software. Any help would be appreciated.
